Field Strip: Vektor CP1 (South African gas delayed 9mm pistol clone of the Hk P7)
In this Field Strip video, I show how to disassemble for cleaning and maintenance the Vektor CP1 pistol. This is a gas delayed pistol like the Hk P7 or Walther CCP. This can be a little tricky to get apart as I do not think it is very obvious on how to do it. I hope this video helps someone in the future.

Range Report: Vektor CP1 (South African pistol inspired by the Hk P7)
Просмотров 3159 часов назад
In this Range Report we take a look at a rare but mechanically interesting pistol from South Africa. This pistol is the Vektor CP1. It uses a gas delayed blowback system that is very reminiscent of the Hk P7. This is a very modern and futuristic looking pistol, but is also very minimalistic. Does this pistol match the quality and function of the Hk P7? This video documents my personal thoughts,...

      Maybe so. But was it worth it? As I state, is yelling profanities outside of an elementary school your 1st Amendment right? Maybe. But is that the battle worth fighting for and risking everything? Matt gambled and lost. Pure and simple. He does not get my sympathy. What he did was not imperative for the 1st or 2nd Amendment.

    Another important note that people dont know, you are not supposed to oil/lube the striker assembly in the slide. Sig manual specifically says not to oil that area. Oil attracts dirt and grim, if that safety pin gets gunked up it could get stuck in the depressed position.

Meanwhile, the criminals aren't bothering with any of this and are still out there doing things illegally. Such a waste of time, money and resources that could be spent elsewhere to chase down actual criminals instead of micromanaging law-abiding citizens.

    I put anti-walk pins on mine because that's all i could find for a decent price. My regular pins came out, and it was causing my rifle to act as if it was a binary (which it isn't). I checked my hammer and my trigger and their springs and everything was fine.

    @thetexasgunvault , not sure if it's relevant, but I was shooting for approximately forever before I finally learned that the reason I shot slightly to the support side, about as far as you do, was because I put too little finger on the trigger. Typically support side groups are from too little trigger finger, but I have decent size hands but sliiiiightly shorter digits, just enough to PUSH the gun to my support side with the trigger finger on each shot, as opposed to curling that direction with too much finger. Just my experience though, figured I'd mention it for the heck of it. Great video and hoping to pick one of these up soon.

Then I bought the OD green and 16 inch barrel then I want a 16-inch all Black rifle off of GunBroker. Those are by far my favorite rifles to shoot. You do realize you can change the buffer weight and spring for under $100 and make that gassed perfectly. Ive done it to 2 diamond backs. Spitting brass at 3 oclock now run Like a sewing machine. Cut the recoil in half. I have this same one. But if you cant do these things yourself mabie not the best choice tho. Just got one fde. Even the barrel was ceroketed fde on this newer model for 550. And it comes with the full length 15 in handguard now to.

    • @andrewadams5905
      @andrewadams5905 День назад

      @@thetexasgunvault how does it not fix the problem? If it's doing what it's supposed to with h2 and sprinco extra power spring? Cuts the recoil in half. I get it your right with the gas port is to big. But being able to adjust with a buffer is a good thing. If the port is to small you can't turn it up.. Only option is to drill it.. so I would think being over gassd being able to adjust it with buffer and spring is alot better. Alot more options. If it's under gassed your just screwed period.

Not sure about the disassembly, but it's not that big a deal to me. It feels solid, no rattle, which I guess some people want and some don't. We'll see how it plays out.

    If I'm not mistaken, with a Bobcat or Tomcat, you can lift the barrel up and turn it 90 more degrees forward to pick it up off the frame. That would make the takedown make so much more sense than having to go through the trouble of a roll pin. This is like having a Beretta with the heart and soul of a Hi-Point. Nobody should ever have to drift out roll pins to do a a simple field strip.

    I've not been watching firearm reviews for a few years, since I haven't been on the range for a few years (Legal issues, now resolved, but financial issues remain). Anyway, this FN502 has come up in my feed recently, so I have watched a couple of reviews on it. I was especially interested in seeing one used with a suppressor. As to your wife, for a few years, I was a Range Safety Officer for our local club, and had the opportunity to introduce a lot of women to the shooting sports. A lot of guys would show up with AR-15s, 1911s, 9 and 10mm pistols, hand the ladies an unloaded pistol and a mag and say 'Here, just point down range and pull the trigger.' Had absolutely no idea on how to introduce a lady to shooting. I had a couple I was able to 'intercept' and stop them before they shot anything, and gave them a bit of training on how to hold, operate, etc., the firearms. Had some pretty amazing shooters, too. So, yeah, women can be better shooters. I'm 66 years old, and when I was a kid, we'd be out playing Army or Cowboy and Indian and had a lot of toy guns, and really learned a lot of bad habits. What I found was if you took a young lady (no matter the age) and started with a .22LR, and taught them HOW to handle a firearm, and what to expect, and how to aim properly, they were very good shooters. In fact, many of them would bring targets back that their husbands or boyfriends were incredulous that they shot that well. Now, admittedly, for a rifle, we were shooting at 50 yards, and for pistol, either at 7 or 15 yards, but still. In fact, I had one young lady who had never shot, and she put five rounds down range out of my Kimber 82G at 50 yards. All five rounds were within 1", and four out of the five were all within .25" She took that target home, after I snapped some photos of it. Women have a respect for firearms, and in some cases, a fear. If we take the time to allay those fears and teach them proper technique, grip and sight, they do very well. I used to shoot with my 85+ year old Mom. She had her CZ which she loved. We'd play 'Battleship' side by side, two Battleship targets on the same board. Both of us are right handed, but I would shoot left handed, so even up things, and I'm not a bad shot lefthanded (right handed, left eye dominant). Yeah, I usually beat her, but only by a couple of shots, and she was 30+ years on me. Women, as a whole, are better shots than men because they don't go through the poor learning curve that boys do at a young age, which gets ingrained on them. Women learn to shoot as adults. I've also found that women who learn to shoot as adults and have their own firearms and access to a range often are the first on a Saturday morning to go 'Let's go to the Range and shoot!' So, you're wife shooting better than you is not a surprise to me, in the least bit. She's a good shot.

    Another feature of tip up design and DA/SA you can have a round in the chamber and never have the hammer back until you wish to fire, in some its a decocker that can not fail.
